A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you have a Linux shared website hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a particular e-mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally only a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in your account. You can select one single email address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all messages sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
